Strategic Marketing Consulting
Strategic marketing advice for UK founders, business owners and SMEs who want to make better-informed decisions about growth, visibility and commercial priorities.
Sterling Marketing & Coaching provides consulting that connects business direction with practical marketing choices, rather than treating each channel as a separate product.

Strategy and growth
We consider your business objectives, customers, positioning and commercial opportunities before recommending what to prioritise.
This can include digital and commercial strategy, channel selection, growth planning and ongoing advisory support. The aim is a considered direction and an agreed scope of work that suits your business.
Search and content
We review how people find and understand your business through traditional search and AI-assisted search experiences.
Our work can include technical and on-page SEO, search visibility, SEO-focused content, and the organisation of helpful information. Recommendations begin with search intent, the quality of your website and the questions your customers are asking.
Paid media
We can advise on and scope advertising across Google Search, Meta platforms, connected TV, streaming audio, geo-fenced advertising and digital out-of-home media.
Channel selection depends on your audience, objectives, creative requirements and ability to measure meaningful outcomes.
Not every channel will be appropriate for every business.
Website and conversion
We help assess whether your website supports the actions visitors need to take.
This can include Shopify store builds, landing pages, page structure, user journeys and conversion improvement.
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM) can also support a more reliable understanding of website and campaign performance, subject to appropriate privacy and consent arrangements.
How an engagement works
1. Strategy conversation
We discuss your business, the decision you face and whether consulting is the right form of support.
2. Scoped proposal
You receive a written outline of the objectives, deliverables, responsibilities and timescales.
There are no fixed packages. Fees are set in a written proposal after the strategy conversation.
3. Delivery
The agreed advisory or implementation work proceeds within that scope.
4. Review
We consider what has been completed, what the evidence shows and any sensible next steps.
Consulting and executive coaching are different
Marketing consulting is advisory: it can include analysis, professional opinions and recommendations.
Executive Coaching is a separate, non-directive engagement in which the client develops their own thinking and decisions.
If you use both services, their purpose, agreements, roles and confidentiality arrangements are kept distinct.
Frequently asked questions
Who is this service for?
Primarily UK founders, owners and SMEs seeking clearer marketing and commercial direction, whether they are starting, improving or reviewing existing activity.
Do I need to know which marketing service I want?
No. The strategy conversation can begin with the business issue. We can then consider whether strategy, SEO, paid media, website work or another priority deserves attention.
Will you recommend every available marketing channel?
No. Recommendations depend on the business, the target customer and what is reasonable to deliver and measure.
Can you review existing marketing before recommending changes?
Yes. A review of current activity, content, measurement or website performance can be included in an agreed consulting scope.
Do you offer both advice and implementation?
The proposed engagement will make clear whether it covers advice, implementation, review or a combination, including any dependencies on external providers.
Is this the same as executive coaching?
No. Consulting includes specialist advice and recommendations; coaching has a different purpose, agreement and way of working.
